I don't remember very well my start on the reservation....at my age 2, my Mom got remarried and we moved to the west coast.

By the time I had returned to visit family, they were no longer on the reservation. But small town Oklahoma was plenty poor and rascist for this kid. Sadly, my grandmother denied her heritage due to the pressures of rascism...even though it was plainly obvious that she was Cherokee.

She's one tough gal...still fighting hard at 96.
