Checked out the ASUS website FAQs in 1998 and many issues were being resolved by updating the bios. They also mentioned a problem with detecting some Seagate models.

I have problems with Seagate HDDs on P2L-B M/B. In some cases the system doesn't start, and in others, we get the error message: "Primary Master Hard Disk Fail". What is wrong?

This problem can be fixed by updating the HDD firmware to revision 3.11. Since there's no flash utility for you to update the HDD firmware, you need to contact your HDD vendor or Seagate distributor to update the firmware for you. As we know, the Seagate HDD models with detection problem are: ST33221A, ST34321A, ST36531A, ST38641A.
