Tommaso,

In Australia there are bullion dealers that are very accessible in the cities that buy bullion. Just take the bullion to the window and convert it to another metal, coins or Aussy$'s. They were dealing at the spot price of the metals plus a "very" small transaction cost. This metal transaction cost was less than an ATM transaction cost.

I believe it's easier to sell to the same place you bought from than to others, find out ahead of time. When I was shopping around the internet about a year and a half ago, some places tried to pitch me by saying they would honor spot prices (with spread of course) for their clients and brought up 1980 as a time when small bullion holders could not get good prices during the POG spike unless they had relationships with dealers in place already. I was too young then to remember so take this all fwiw and with a grain of salt and all that. Best thing to do is an internet search and then call a few places. Some will try to get you to store the gold you buy from them with them, bad idea I'm sure.

It is kind of funny what you say, maybe it's like comic books and baseball cards, when you go to sell you only get 1/4-1/2 what you paid -bg-

<Isn't this funny, that with all the talk about gold, nobody has ever sold any.>

It hasn't made sense in like 20 years... LOL

Zurich has banks which buy and sell Maple Leafs, Nuggets, Pandas, Krugerrands, and Eagles. Just pop over to UBS on Bahnhofstrasse or even Terminal A at the airport.

I remember back in the late seventies early eighties when gold was really high there was a little shop in the shopping mall where my health club was where people would line up to sell their gold jewelry and coins. People were cashing in family heirlooms. I even heard talk of large drug deals that were done with Krugerrands.
