The Bush/Rumsfeld policy on the prisoners is going to make it difficult to lodge effective protests over mistreatment of any Americans in one of the many countries that the administration is now putting troops.
I worry that the prisoners will be tortured
Rightfully so, In times of war many prisoners talk anyway for favors or whatnot. The Geneva convention just says they are not obligated. So what if an Al Queda member doesn't sing? All the carrots are allowed under the Geneva Convention so it is only the sticks that Rumsfeld wants to have.
