I read that it was HC who requested the trading halt but, I won't disagree that the NYSE is the final decision maker on whether to do it or, not. I doubt they were reluctant, though.

Now, I have 65,000 shares on the line and if it's good news, I will NOT take the rest of the month off. Gotta keep a close eye on all those eggs!

BTW, do find my scenario at all reasonable? It would certainly dovetail with the positives you laid out and such an action would also address the market's (and particularly the short's) concerns about leverage and the expensive SLB loan.
Sound too simple, almost. Only question is how to allow management in the deal without giving the appearance of impropriety, IMO?
