The Jerusalem Post is reporting that Zinni is now denying those remarks. Methinks General Zinni spoke with undiplomatic freedom at that dinner, and that somebody leaked the anti-Arafat bits.

ben franklin, a great american, known by educated americans, said three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead. thus, zinni and others know the word would get out. the problem is americans, us government, and rest of world strongly insist that israel should continue to take casualties as long as arabs want to kill them. world will not let israel slaughter arabs or drive them from west bank and jerusalem. perhaps if there is a huge step up in loss of israeli lives that will change.
