Makes no difference now- Microsoft reported GAAP numbers too, but within 5 minutes First Call had phoned CNBC and told them that their estimates were pro-forma, and gave them what they thought the GAAP translated into if it were actually pro-forma.

So basically, it doesnt matter if you report GAAP anymore, because First Call only reports pro-forma. In fact if you go to first call's website you'll see they no longer list GAAP at all. If an analyst tries to submit a GAAP estimate, that analysts rating is simply dropped.
