True. If there are no demos or talk of engineering samples in the next month or so, then I will be concerned. The only reason I am giving some credibility to the possibility of the Hammers already being taped out is that AMD has been playing their cards really close to their vests ever since the initial Athlon was done.

You're right. AMD was very tight lipped about Athlon until it was well on it's way and with such a radical new design in hammer it wouldn't be surprising to need a couple of steppings before it's ready for sampling. Additionally AMD not only needs the design debugged but the process as well. Radical new design on a radical new process. One of your most basic nonos. With Merced Intel at least had a stable process to run on.
