A fun little exercise to test for prejudice and bigotry is to do word substitutions when somebody appears to be generalizing about a group. An example would be with the post to which I am responding. Substitute any of the word "christians" with any of the words below or add a group to which you belong. If you find it offensive with the substituted words, it might be an indication of something.

-Muslims
-Jews
-Hindus
-Immigrant Muslim Convenience Store Managers from Pakistan and India
-Buddhists

So, let's see if you pass the test....
===================================================

Well, I always assume that people who choose to ...

... describe (CONscribe, rather) themselves as "Immigrant Muslim Convenience Store Managers from Pakistan and India" have little if any self-worth.

'Immigrant Muslim Convenience Store Managers from Pakistan and India ' like to discriminate against all other 'faiths.'

'Immigrant Muslim Convenience Store Managers from Pakistan and India ' are WASPs.

'Immigrant Muslim Convenience Store Managers from Pakistan and India ' don't like other people. Are AFRAID of other people. Who are 'different.'

Confidence in their own brains and abilities without this ridiculous 'crutch' of 'group superstition', or LOL, 'professed' faith that dictates how 'everyone' SHOULD BEHAVE.

It's very limiting in terms of intellectual stimulus. To innovate.

That's what I mean.

Get it?

IMO, You pass the test with flying colors.

You are a blind idiot full of self-hatred and totally against the history and culture of this nation. Christians are being killed and persecuted throughout this world by Moslems. In this country you can be a Buddhist, Hindu Moslem and the ruling class the Christians may try to win you to their faith but they do not kill you or prevent you from practicing your religion. The murder of Christians throughout the world today is a fact. What a bloody ignorant fool you are. Quit your hate speech.

And no I am not a Christian.

Shut the F up! You give us non-Christians a bad name!

All Christians are white? You've never met any black Christians? I have. Lots. Good people, too.

My next door neighbor is Japanese. He's Christian. A good, hard working industrious and smart man. Who has raised two sweet, lovely daughters (with his wife's help, of course.)

The neighbor across the street is Chinese and a Christian. He has willing treated minot injuries his neighbors have incurred for free. And told some others (including me) that they needed to get to a hospital emergency room NOW! In my case this was at 4 AM. And he probably saved my life.

These are bigoted, hateful people?

African- Americans are more fervently Christian, as a group, than whites. And the church has often been their refuge in times of hardship. Why do you think they followed Reverend King and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference? Why do you think most voter- registration activity was conducted in churches? Why do you think that prominent black leaders include the Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Reverend Al Sharpton, and that even Louis Farrakhan is a minister, albeit of a Muslim sect?

I know many Christians who do not fit in with your very narrow minded "profile" of them.

Christianity is the only religion that liberals have a personal problem with and the reason is simple. Christians worship the true God.

Hey bonus boy, is being prejudice against any group ok with you, or is it just Christians? What is it like to harbor such hatred against a religious group? Does it make you feel superior?

Prejudice is an ugly thing imo. It is not fair or reasonable to use it to form your opinions.
