When I saw some of these folks in San Francisco who were remonstrating against the Tri-Lateral Commission a few years ago I decided I ought to at least know what the heck they were ranting about. I found the notion to be quite amusing, as apparently you do yourself. Of the 10 choices, one seems to be an outlier, i.e. number 10, which some days does seem to be the case to me, especially when I hear about special military tribunals, efforts to create a military command for the homeland and other such notions. These quaint efforts to subvert the Constitution*** probably won't get too far, but at least we know for sure that the present Administration is not in a struggle to maintain civil liberties at all costs. Now as far as whether I hold a sectarian view that it is only the Republicans who threaten the average American, whatever that means, let me assure you that I think the Dems are doing a good job, as the left wing of the corporate party, to sell us out as well. Here's a good example of this political/corporate chicanery: webactive.com The segment you want to listen to in particular is "Tom Goes Awhoring". Frankly, this was news to me when I first heard it. Somehow I doubt it is the kind of corporate featherbedding that the Republicans are likely to kick Dashle for in the election however. There's just so much dirt on both of these feckless and hopelessly corrupted parties. Or at least enough to go around. Thanks for your pointing me in the direction of the Kook test. I'm probably more of a gook than a kook, however. Strong believer in nationalism, the rights of indigenous peoples as well as immigrants and pretty much opposed to the depradations of the planet by the forces of globalization. In that sense, I was gratified to see a young man with a tee shirt in Safeway yesterday that proudly declared "Che Lives!". Che Guevara that is. This young man wasn't even born when that terrorist, er freedom fighter, was assassinated for standing up for the little guy in the face of corporate greed. Plus ca change, la plus l'meme chose, n'est pas? Salaams, Ray ***Last week I was discussing the Constitution with a friend. He reassured me that U.S. Constitution is no threat to our present form of government.
