qv, will easily support an upgrade

Call it what they choose. In 2002, 1xrtt networks come online with the capacity to support strong data usage rates. The stronger the uptake, the more capacity becomes an issue now.

We need to get this race beyond the gonnas and wills.

If you believe NOK BS, their Ultrasite base stations are ready for, and compliant with GSMGPRSEDGEwCDMA... all in one package... if you believe NOK BS.

No doubt, SI Narcissus will post on Ultrasite's sterling credibility and potential... in meandering, numbing detail... upon discovery of your comment.

On a more interesting note, I'd wager that this AWE/Cingular tie in portends the rumored break up of Cingular... freeing BellSouth to court Sprint.

Hmmm... it is always entertaining to see “analysis” of competing technologies. Especially when its done by investment "experts" who don´t know diddley what they are talking about.

To those less knowledgeable of the basic GSM than even Qveauriche, let it be known that EDGE does not require complete tearout of GSM/GPRS. Quite the contrary, EDGE is not much more than a radio modulation exercise on top of existing GSM/EDGE.
