Re: Baxter

No news that I've seen. Just some crackpot comments from the peanut gallery about mob hits, Soldier of Fortune/mercenary myths and the usual disinformation. I'm not holding my breath on this one. We are getting conficting reports on "state of mind". Associates of Baxter who are willing to go on the record are saying he seemed OK as of last week. Anonymous associates are saying they found a disturbing level of depression in the man.

[[Aside: Why it's almost enough to make one reflect upon the Western power market today, trading down on the rumor of balmy weather while the Northwest is having one of the chilliest mornings of the winter. What's a person to believe? What the markets/authorities report, or what is actually happening? This is, of course, the flip side to market rumors of horribly cold weather during one period of price spikes last winter while we were actually enjoying unseasonably warm weather. It seems that reality and market information just don't have a lot to do with each other some weeks. I wonder why...<gg> ]]

Mephisto,

Re: Has any other information about the Baxter suicide
been mentioned? Have they found the bullet that
killed him?

Here's something from the other scandal thread:

Message 16970112

Titled: The man who knew too much

BTW, I hadn't heard that the bullet was missing. What's that all about? That sounds murkier and murkier if that bit of evidence is gone. Not to be too gory, but with a .38 shot at close range, I'd expect half a skull to be hamburger, a big a$$ed hole in the side of Mercedes and a crime scene where the trajectory of the errant projectile could be determined and the missing metal found. What does anyone know about any of this? Sheesh, I'm beginning to sound like the National Enquirer. Did we find any anthrax in the car??

This whole tawdry story is beginning to give the old "Dallas" show with JR and Sue Ellen a good run for the money on entertainment value.
