"Unauthorized statements have been made to the effect that the purpose in view is to create a wholly Jewish Palestine. Phrases have been used such as that `Palestine is to become as Jewish as England is English.' His Majesty's Government regard any such expectation as impracticable and have no such aim in view. And since Israel officially list some 20% of its population as non-Jewish, it would seem as if this spirit was retained intact. But the Palestinians want a state where no Jew would have the right to own property. That's tantamount to Germany or France declaring that an American would not be permitted to reside in their countries, or to own property. In fact, it like trying to claim that no American would have the right to renounce their US citizenship and obtain citizenship in those countries. That would clearly be a tragedy.. After all... where would such a policy leave such Anti-American dissidents such as Alec Baldwin, Robert Altman, and Pierre Salinger?? Hawk
