article was mainly PR fluff, but it did relate that his team is planning to prove the existence of strings based on background radiation or something very sketchy (the whole idea was criticized by another string expert quoted in the article). i guess this is plan B, since plan A (built a $100 billion supercollider) will apparently not be funded by bill gates. i note in passing that if i had $100 billion, i could prove the existence of just about anything, including other SciFi characters besides strings, like The Shrike.
