Interesting tactic.........you don't have the statistics to back up the significant statement you made

Not true, the statistics where in my post. The more important and probably more controversial statement was that areas with more gun control have more gun related crime. The statistics where included in my post and more of them can be found by following the links, or in great detail by getting the studies or books referensed but even without that the quoted stats support my contention.

The controversial portion of your statement, for me at least, was where you said "many people" carry guns on a regular basis. Many implies a large number of people. If we are talking about people in rural areas, well that's not many by definition. And let me say, that in rural WI and MN, there are very few people toting a handgun or a rife or an uzi on a regular basis. Maybe in the south and West its true but not in the Midwest, and probably not in the NE but I don't have as much experience with that area. So your claim of many is very questionable.

As for people carrying guns regularly drive away from the coasts and talk to people esp. people in rural areas.

And its not surprising that violent crime is low in these areas...again not because people are carrying guns but because crime is low in these areas period. That is partly due to the lack of population and partly to the culture found in rural areas.

But all this talk doesn't change the fact that guns tend to make violence and death just that much easier. Nothing will convince me that it makes for a safer world as some of your links infer......like you said, in the US we have more guns, then people.......were it true that guns reduced violence, we would be the safest place on earth.
