But could you call this a laptop or does this desktop chip run too hot to be safe for your lap?

And does it come with a coffee warmer pad? <g>

Even Intel states that there are no mobile P4s. It is just a desktop P4 placed in a notebook. Battery life must be in the single digit minutes unless you carry a backpack battery and asbestos pads on your lap. Unfortunately, this has been going on quite a while and these "notebooks" to use the term (very) loosely practically must be plugged in to work.
