Presumably because they are talking to a predominantly Christian audience. However, Adi Da relates his Teaching to ALL other teachings. One whole book of his, for example, relates to Vedanta. "there is no reason to concern oneself with what Jesus "really" taught" ---unless, of course, you have an interest in clarity, integrity, living wisdom, living Spirituality, etc, in which case you might have something to say.... By the way, what august body annointed the Bible as the authority? Which bible? King James? Pre-Council of Nicaea bible? The unwritten verbal word of Jesus (where is THAT?) The 1000 page Life of Jesus in The Urantia Book? The Essene Teachings? etc, etc. Just because some body or other sanctioned a particular version, does that make the contents TRUE? Is it all so cast in stone? Namaste! Jim
