You can sell anything over any counter, but you have to establish a value with the buyer. Of course Jewelers buy rings and go by the karat stamp. And they will buy nuggets by the Jolly balance weight. There was a store in Timmins that used to sell nuggets and nick nacks and buy too. They had a deal with Swastika assay lab to assay gold so they could do ascertaining. I liked Swastika as they were quick and accurate and repeatable in gold assay. I had heard a rumour that good gold assays were known to people in Noranda as well as yourself and Swastika. I never knew that for sure. You heard things like that in the gold industry.
