I'm aware of no Christian tradition in which the salvific sacrifice of Christ does not play a central theological role
Unitarian?

Just for the record, Adi Da does NOT describe his Teaching as part of the Christian tradition. In the piece I posted today he LIKENED his Teaching to the esoteric Teaching of
Jesus, and CONTRASTED it to the exoteric presentation of
mass-Christianity in the present era.

So I am not sure what you are referring to with the comment:

"you can no more properly call an arbitrary system of belief 'Christian' than you can call a random collection of utterances 'English' "

Namaste!
