While I don't know that the numbers back you up on that one, I hold to my other points, and do add that I don't believe the connection you draw is valid. I believe that many results of a presidency are seen long after a term is through, though for instance when a Nixon takes up the Democratic cry for price controls, bad results can be swift. And of course, the current economic downturn began during Clinton's term, and would remain much the same were he still President. I think this is reasonably obvious.

Let me say too, that interest rates may be more at the core of this current downtrend than anything Clinton influenced, and indeed current indications are, as expected with lower rates, that things are about to turn around(i.e. rate of slowdown is already officially slowing).
