That's the facts, check them out

Those are the allegations as provided by an individual with a history of mental illness and supported by the firm (and completely unbiased, I'm sure) hunch of Liddy. The allegations must be true, because a jury voted 7-2 that they did not rise to the standards of libel as defined by U.S. law. It could not be proven untrue, therefore it must be true. It goes without saying that repeating these allegations at every opportunity increases the chance of their being correct.

Indulging in an unfair stereotype, it amazes me how many conservatives will eagerly embrace any allegation by any crackpot which happens to support their world view. The people in the Nixon Administration couldn't have done something as stupid as the Watergate break-in, therefore this elaborate story must be correct. Of course, the left does the same thing with any social scientist who comes out with a theory, no matter how flimsy, that supports their world view. I guess from the conservative point of view there is no difference between the two camps in this regard, since by definition social scientist = crackpot. <g>
