AT&T Wireless Posts 4th Quarter Loss

REDMOND, Wash. (Reuters) - AT&T Wireless Services Inc. (NYSE:AWE - news), the
nation's third-largest wireless operator, on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter net loss and added
subscribers at the low end of its target, but revenues rose 18.7 percent due to increased usage.

The fourth-quarter net loss totaled 48 cents a share, compared with income of 15 cents a share a year ago.

Its loss from continuing operations was 14 cents a share, compared with income of 18 cents a share a year ago. Analysts on
average were expecting a loss of 6 cents according to Thomson Financial/First Call with loss estimates ranging from 2 cents to 10
cents.

AT&T Wireless added 927,000 subscribers in the quarter, at the low end of its targeted range of 900,000 to 1 million.

Total consolidated revenues grew 18.7 percent to $3.528 billion.

And detractors call Q expensive

some detractors have pointed out that QCOM is by no means the only allegedly expensive stock out there. nor is it necessarily the "most" expensive. but that is not the same thing as saying it is cheap or a good deal.
