Dan, Re: "no final grade until you see through your Intel illusions..."

No illusions, Dan. I'm just being realistic. You think Itanium will fail because of Hammer; I think that both will co-exist in different markets. You think that AMD will wipe out Intel; I think both will stay roughly where they are. You think Hammer performance will be some kind of revolutionary achievement; I think it will be evolutionary based on AMD's micro-architectural enhancements. You think that SOI will make the difference for AMD and propel them into vastly higher speeds at lower power, while Intel missed the boat, and is now desperately trying to catch up; I see PD SOI as having a few trade offs, and that it was good for Intel to pass it up for now. While AMD gets some immediate marginal benefits, their yields will decrease, and their costs will go up. You're exaggerating all your claims, and I'm predicting something more steady. Of course, through your AMD Green colored glasses, everything looks the way you want it to. Someone here is suffering from illusions, but it isn't me.
