Notice how strong accumulation indicators are on Cohu (A-) especially when compared to Amat(C+) or Nvls(C-)?? (per IBD)

Earnings out tomorrow (after the market)- hope that strength holds.

300mm wafers have twice the yield per line - perhaps the market sees that as a need for twice the testhandlers.

Maybe just maybe we have a sweet spot here at the bottom???

Morning Bob!

Re:I think what will be the big surprise is how profitable these companies will be with very marginal increases in business activity!!!!

Indeed, this industry was one of the leanest sectors even before this downturn. The earnings power of many cos. in this sector will be enormous, and a shocker to those who seem to be constantly Bearish on the sector. Our time is arriving:-)

The question is when to use more purchasing power.

Bob............RE "Remember Q4 of 98 - earnings were horrible but backlogs grew and the prices were on the uptrend after Oct 8th and never looked back."
Yes, I remember very well. This downturn is as bad as that one, and most stocks in the sector
(including our beloved COHU) are already TRIPLE the price that they were during those late 1998 lows.
I still haven't changed my opinion of the past few months, which is that the semi-equips are over valued
relative to previous down cycle valuations and relative to the point in the current cycle.

I'm holding a small long position for the longer term, and I intend to add to it on weakness.
I gotta admit, COHU has held up VERY well.
I do not expect any good news with the ER tomorrow. So it will be interesting to see how it reacts.

Good luck! Eric
