Thistle, formerly Ourominas, is a company that has bought other mining companies and has/had cash on hand. It used to have land in the Matto Grosso area of Brazil which they wrote down. It has a shareholder from Kuwait that owned 75% of the shares in 1999.

They own a company, CIDEM, which had 26 million in cash and part ownership of two industrial mineral producers. They also own 50.7 % of Eurasia gold. This info is as of 2000.
Sounds like an oil money backed company.
