I doubt QCharts is burdened by offering the historical data. For one thing, when servers are getting busy, historical data requests are limited. They're probably the first data request to be ignored. Secondly, I really doubt that lots of users are engaging in extensive historical studies during market hours. Traders are too busy with live trading during those busy times.

Where eSignal keeps the load under control compared to QCharts is by limiting the symbols, IMO.

As things stand now, I'd consider subscribing to both. I have to admit that an almost flawless data stream has its attraction. But QCharts comes closer to fulfilling all my data needs than eSignal, even with eSignal's coming improved charting. Now if they'd make the intraday historical data available ...
