Well, of course it is going to sell to the street. And it does sell to the street. Which, we should observe, is not living in countries where the street can vote. But if they did, what then?

When we look back at our own history, and the history of other nations, we can clearly see mistakes. Is it possible, just possible, that we are capable of making mistakes now?

Why does this matter to me so much now? Because I sense impending military conflict that can still be avoided. A peaceful resolution of Israel/Palestine never mattered more than it does today - and it may never have been further away. How could we have worked so hard without success?

Because both sides have become intransigent. Because both sides have irreconcilable differences.

And the US is expected to work it out because why? Because Israel would not be able to continually kick Arab butt without us. So we (in part) made the problem what it is.

What difference does it make that bin Laden is an opportunist? He's seized an excellent opportunity, who can fault him for that?
