I don't think that any of us can say with any honesty that we read and truly understand Tyco's accounting. Some of us believe in measures like 'organic growth' and 'free cash flow' and others don't. But I agree with you on the solution; raise the level of disclosure to as high a level as possible. Apparently, Tyco's management agreed with us too. That is why a small percentage of shares (~15%) of each of the four business units will be IPO'd and thus incur the higher standard. I am not sure why the synergies would disappear but I wouldn't be surprised to see the business units get favorable acquisition financing from the former CIT.

Thanks for sharing CC - I added also. Hopefully the people posting here know enough not to follow me in my trades. I feel fairly confident that I am right about this company but it simply doesn't pay to be right when the rest of the market thinks you are wrong. And when it comes right down to it, it's all about getting paid.
