Gottfried, Yeah, I can't argue that some writers tend to use selective time frames in order to support their comments. Still, overall AMAT has done quite well since the October lows in the face of repeated weakness in sector bookings and news of numerous semi capex cuts. I guess this old bear is mostly in agreement with the comment: "...the run-up in chip equipment stocks seems too optimistic, even given their traditional role in leading the upward cycle." On the other hand, AMAT has repeatedly shown an amazing ability to retain a high valuation and may continue to hold its own going forward. On balance, I suspect there's room to move lower over the near term, but again I wouldn't be surprised if we never break below the $35 level I've been hoping for (to buy long). In any case, time is on the side of the bulls and the sun will eventually rise on the dark-side.
