Well, I dissed Nixon because he took up a Democrat idea to fix prices for our own good, and that plan hurt us.

You say Wall Street think this administrations policies will drive the market down? I don't think that is correct nor logical. Even if the street did think as you say of Bush, what Wall Street thinks often has little bearing upon the reality of the market. Again, the first wave of this possibly(admitedly) "great vicious bear market," as you put it, began under President Clinton.

Even more interesting though, is that I recall hearing that we've seen depressions averaging every 50 years or so for perhaps hundreds of years. So we may be currently overdue, and if another fully materializes soon, I for one will have deeper questions as to the whys and wherefores, than just to wonder about the actions of any recent President.
