Re: Citi

I read an article some months back how a US bank, I think it was Citibank, was offering high interest rate (I seem to remember 8%) deposit/savings account in Japan. These were being taken up in droves. There was a catch however, the holder of the account had to make a guess as to which way the Nikkei was going to move, and it had to move by a significant amount. Well, I beleive that the move below 10k is enough that all those who said down would be entitled to their 8% or whatever the rate was.

Maybe Citi hedged every customer bet, or maybe they thought "8% isn't much and it won't happen anyway". Will be interested to see how it works out.
