<Intel won't be standing still>

Well Intel already got the "big jump" in clock speed going to 0.13µ, only it wasn't very big. (10% clock speed)

I'm under the impression that AMD will get another 8% in clock speed from 0.18u, and then get a jump in clock speed due to the smaller geometry comparable to Intel's, all within a 3 month period. Considering that there are also IPC improvements in TBred, that is a 20% jump in 3 months.

Elmer, Re: < Sorry to break the news to you Petz but Intel won't be standing still. They are no doubt already stockpiling 2.4GHz parts and shrinks are surely in the works as we type. 2.4GHz+ can't be far behind and with the rumored 533MHz fsb the performance gains will be more than enough to stay well ahead of anything AMD can produce in token numbers.>

We certainly have different views on this subject, and I'm pretty sure you'd be as hard to convince as I am.

So Instead of trying I'll just bookmark this message and post it back to you next January if I'm right.

(If I'm wrong I'll leave the posting to you. ;))
