bm,

Thanks. That's a more reasoned and civil reply than I ever recall receiving from you in the past. Totally out of character. It does give me some insight into your thinking. I guess you are just a lot more trusting of authority figures than I happen to be. I'm more like the folks who live in the "Show Me" state. I don't take anything any politician says at face value. I believe that they are lying when I see their lips moving. I really wish I could believe in people like Cheney, as you do, because it would really simplify things for me. I keep trying to figure out how he's trying to use his office to fill his pockets and those of his cronies, instead of looking out for the welfare of the nation. It is so refreshing to talk to someone who simply can sweep all of Cheney's faults, his penchant for secrecy, his intractable attitude about his stock holdings, his silly views about energy markets and sweep it all under the rug. You must sleep better than me, not fearing that Cheney is selling out America to a small coterie of cronies, who are finding ever more clever ways to hide their money in Caymans Islands banks, like that fella Fastow, Ken Lay's sidekick. I wished I did have your ability to be blind to the facts.
