RtS,
another semi equip that could be worth some examination: IVAC (Intevac). They do make RTP, CVD and Flat Display panel sputtering equipment. Plus they are developing LIVAR - a photonic system that produces cheap and highly accurate night vision photos from 25 km of distance and more. LIVAR should generate sweet sales (defense, security & related) starting in 2003. What is more they recently introduced high end photonic detectors: 10 and 40 Gbit/S PIN photodiode products. To my knowledge only JDSU can do this apart from Intevac. I listened to the CC after their earnings statement and liked the general tone. They nailed an exclusive deal to be the sole supplier of RTP systems for Ulvac, the biggest Japanese FPD-sputtering manufacturer

Under $3 it looks like a steal to me.. The Debt/Equity ratio looks high but their debt is trading at 60 cents to the dollar (convertible debenture maturing in 2004). Company has been buying back for some time now..
