You entirely miss the point, Dithers. There were horrible atrocities on both sides. The site I posted only scratched the surface of what went on. Is it possible you do not know the true extent?

I think the evidence is clear that the greatest atrocities were with the Soviets; but the small point I posted for information was that nobody has clean hands in warfare.

Let me also point out that the Japanese were using germ warfare in China, including Anthrax and plague. And let me point out to you that if it came down to that...nobody was going to survive what the Anericans and the Brits had stockpiled.

War is an ugly business. Most of the contingency plans are thankfully kept out of the mainstream.

Your ridiculing of the web site posted showed an abysmal ignorance. Why do you keep saying "a corpse" over and over when you are referring to these atrocities, Dithers. I am just curious?

First of all: how do you think they got to become corpses? Secondly, are you suggesting that these things were not done while the soldiers were still alive??

Why are you clowning around about the idea of atrocities from any side? After every war the powers that be are so sickened and disturbed that they meet to iron out new conventions and rules of engagement.

Most people take these things very seriously. Most people believe that it is important to understand the human boundaries that are crossed in war, and to attempt to develop rules and mindsets that will offset natural or unnatural urges to cruelty and inhumanity. Why do you find that a subject worthy of mockery and disdain?

Thanks for posting the link to the Nanking atrocities. Some of the things done by the Japanese are beyond belief--but they happened.
