Programs written for Merced were run on emulators for quite a while before Merced actually taped out in mid-1999. This was a constant target of ridicule by the AMDroids because of the huge schedule slips.

Funny how Hammer is now finding itself in a similar situation, if not as extensive.

First silicon is out for Hammer.
