When American lives are on the line following an attack on the Homeland, there is going to be a loud and powerful non-partisanship at the State of The Union address. The unabashed unity serves as a statement to the enemy and our troops. I would have expected it no matter who was President. The last President received BJs from Monica, and this President got (Ken) Lay'd. Makes no difference in the current circumstances - look at the forgiveness of Giuliani from his political problems. There will be a colossal battle within the Congress and between the congress and the President on domestic issues of the economy, campaign finance reforms and taxes. I expect their will be incentives for capital spending proposed and passed that may help Sun Microsystems.
