That's a good point. The real cost of printing, not just the hardware, is what matters.

Not only that but some of the older printers...Epson and Canon, allow you to replace their overpriced OEM cartridges
with generic cartridges. I've purchased replacement
cartridges for epson 800..860..880 printers for less than $3 a piece. Some of the newer Epsons don't give you that option.
