Enron Owes Unsecured Creditors $30 Billion, Interim CEO Says
By Margot Habiby

Houston, Jan. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Enron Corp. interim Chief Executive Officer Steve Cooper said the former top energy trader owes unsecured creditors $30 billion and secured creditors $10 billion.

In a conference call with reporters, Cooper said the company, which filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors last month, is no longer an energy trader and its future lies in its asset- based businesses, such as natural-gas-pipelines and power plants.

Cooper said he will try to save as many Enron jobs as possible.
