But he also lied , saying Sprint had 3G available B4 Verizon announced, At $499, the I300 (CDMA 800/1900, AMPS 800) is priced correctly. The only misgivings we have are that the phone doesn't offer USB connectivity (it has a serial connection), has no slot for adding memory beyond the included 8MB, and it isn't compatible with Sprint's upcoming 3G network, though it'll continue working on Sprint's existing 2G network. To me SPRINT has SCREWED UP BIG TIME by allowing Verizon to Scoop them on 3G service. With Samsung presenting a variety of new 3G phones at Salt Lake City Olympics, I would say that, if Verizon will simply qualify these phones on their East Coast/West Coast/Salt Lake 3G footprint which they claimed covered apx 40% of the US population, then these phones will sell big time. IMAGINE, Live Video of the olympic events by dialing up a phone No. -- and all starts apx 2/9 in Salt Lake. This is a preview of the World Socer events this spring in Korea. AT&T, Cingular and Voice stream are about to have a stroke -- they simply can't compete--and won't be able to. The Italians are skipping the GPRS brain cooker crap and trying to go directly ro UMTS. There aere a lot of vendor financed GPRS networks sitting in place that are destined for the scrap heap. NOK has simply missed the GPRS window except for a few backward Euro countries that are willing to accept second quality wireless. Also China has 3G test systems in apx 17 cities and are planning to zoom right into 3G by summer. The ice jam is breaking with a huge loud bang.
