Harvey, I think it would be to AMD's advantage if Intel started pushing Rambus again.

The benchmarks will be a little higher at first, but, I believe dual channel DDR benchmarks would be higher than Rambus benchmarks.

The advantage is that Rambus will become more expensive and DDR, cheaper, if Intel stops pushing it.

BTW, I read a few months ago that Samsung (I think) was going to start selling Rambus memory with much fewer open channels than previously. I think it was going to be limited to 4 open channels vs. dozens in the current design.

Has this started yet? Is there a chance that benchmarks are being based on the expensive "old" style of Rambus memory, while most systems are sold with the new cheaper variety?

Ever suspicious,
