JohnG, " Like starting 2/9 and running for 19 days at the Salt Lake Olympics" - you and many on the QCOM threads are talking about the Olympics and the Soccer Championships in Korea as an extremely important showcase for CDMA 2000. Why is that? The spectators don't have access to any 1X phones. Sports fans from all over the world are going there to watch sports and the only reaction I can think of is the surprise that they can't use their cell phones the way they are used to when they travel in other parts of the world. Do you really think they are going to go to some exhibition of phone technology up there in Park City -and go home and write to their GSM providers to switch, or else? Also, last time the Olympics were on, the IOC strictly controlled any distribution of video, pictures etc. You could not get it from the net, if I remember correctly. In order not to compete with the networks that paid zillions for exclusive right. Is it different his time? How can you enjoy video-on-demand if there is none? Or is Verizon fixin' this?
My own personal view is that the fans will be pretty busy with the sports part -maybe just a little bit xxxxx that they can't use their cell phones.
This whole showcase thing reminds me of the times when the Soviets or DDR had hopes that the Olympics would show the visitors how great they were -not!

Didn't PCS just accept a BREW application from fusionOne - the smart synch platform?
