There is more information on this thread on Global Crossing, than in the news.

When and where did he say he bought it on the open market?

FWIW, IRS regulations require him to report the difference between his price and the fair market value of the securities as income because of the proximity of his transaction to the IPO. Wonder if he did...

That is the question the press should be checking out...You can't do all of their work for them.
