On a break lower, look for subsequent support at 17.90. The intraday tone would improve on a break above 18.75. 10:53AM Sector Watch: Semiconductor : Sector spiked higher on the back of INTC (+1.8%)-- Merrill upgrade (see 07:20 comment)-- and MU +1.5%. However, losses in NSM -2.3%, RMBS -2.7%, LLTC -2.6% and XLNX -3% have pressured. The index is now hovering back below its 200 day simple ma (near 555) which stymied the advance over the previous two sessions. Stabilization above this area needed to keep the shorter term positive bias intact. Secondary support at 546/545. 9:23AM Solectron may purchase LU assets (SLR) 11.38: Co is negotiating toward an agreement to purchase specialized equipment and usable inventory from Lucent (LU) for between $250-$290 mln in cash.
