LOL! Looks like the Nikkei got a whiff of those US "tail winds" and didn't like the aroma....

What's that age old aphorism? "Whoever smelt it, dealt it!"<G>

Sun: Ah, come on, can't they hold this together so we can short this thing at higher prices tomorrow? Daddy needs a new pair of upgrades in the AM. Come to Daddy.

Question of the day: What goes to zero first:

(A)QQV

(B)QQQ

QQV has taken a brisk lead after breaking below the QQQ price but the QQQs are responding and trending in the same direction??? Translation: Longs are complacent to see QQQs prices at lower levels and I am happy if they are happy. See, shorts and longs can learn to love one another.

Friday, February 1, 2002 at 09:30 JST
NEW YORK — The U.S. dollar rose sharply against the yen in New York trading on Thursday, soaring at one point to 135.20 yen on reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill has said he has no plans to push down the dollar as asked by U.S. manufacturers.

It was the first time since October 1998 that the U.S. dollar touched the 135 yen level in New York trading. At 4 p.m., the dollar traded at 134.70-80 yen, compared with 133.00-10 yen early Thursday. The dollar was quoted at 132.92-95 yen in Tokyo late Thursday. (Kyodo News)
