I've had two experiences with disasters, one a flood and the other an ice storm. The flood was fun because I got out of school for a week to throw sand bags and eat food from a Red Cross kitchen. The ice storm almost got me. I heard a sudden crack above and dodged a huge ice-encrusted tree limb that fell right where I had been walking.
