Michael,

You make a good point. I think we shouldn't solely pre-judge Ken Lay as a criminal. It's unfair to others.

We should also pre-judge and condemn Skilling, Fastow, Duncan, the Board of Directors and about 3 dozen individuals in total. It would be much more democratic to share the blame. After all, they are all guilty. And nothing you can come up with in you lunatic bias against having the truth brought out can change that fact.

Fastow still isn't responding to subpeonas from Congress. What's that all about? What a stupid way to handle the matter. I'd have thought Boies would be able to make Fastow less of flight risk.... I guess not.

Re: That's what Enron is all about. A business failure,

You either have a tin ear for politics or a complete misunderstanding of reality. This is going to be a political witchhunt. The free-market de-regulation mad Republicans are going to be going into the November elections with their tails between their legs, in a totally defensive position. The American electorate is going to be hopping mad by the time elections roll around. There is no escaping it. Bush's supposed great popularity is going to be overbalanced by the other polling data which even today suggests that 60% of the American electorate think the Bush Administration is hiding something on the Energy Plan/Enron connection. That concern will only grow as more and more companies go BK, like Global Crossing did this week, ruining the pensions of the loyal employees of the former Frontier Communications. America is going to be mighty angry with the Republican collusion to deceive the people, and there's nothing that your sanctimony about 'innocent until proven guilty' is going to change. When election time rolls around, the Republican party is guilty. And hopefully, toast.

At least I see it as a brighter future for America. YMMV. <w>

Good luck, I think you'll need it, Ray
