Speaking of ASUS, I wonder when they (and AMD) are going to start selling those low power Athlon based systems. There was an article on the Japanese website about PowerNow enabled desktop chips from AMD. I guess we will have to wait untill AMD is well into their transition to Tbred with the new smaller socket.

I found an Micro-ATX based motherboard on Asus site. (some people expressed interest on this thread. Here it is:
usa.asus.com

It is based on KT-266A chipset. I think nForce based motherboard with everything onboard would have made a lot more sense. Abit has one, but I am not too crazy about Abit.

eplace - You posted The AMD Assured Program is designed to help commercial system builders identify AMD processor-based motherboards that provide stability and long-term availability,

Looks like AMD is addressing a problem that many of their "potential customers" are having - identifying stable AMD-based motherboards.
Must be a very daunting task.

eplace:

"AMD Assured motherboards for system integrators"

Nice move...Should remove a significant barrier to entry into the enterprise space...The pro AMD enterprise now has "guaranteed performance" to fall back on...Enterprises like that kind of assurance!!!

Re: AMD (NYSE:AMD) today announced that AMD and ASUS Computer International have teamed up to promote the AMD Assured(TM) Program for the North American commercial market.

AMD has needed to provide more configuration support for a long time. Intel is fortunate enough to have it provided by third parties because Intel is the current fashion.

AMD marketing efforts have gone from boneheaded to brilliant during the past year. As CPUs become commoditized, this is critical, and AMD appears to be on track with a strong set of programs.
