Amein, I will respect your wishes if you do not want to talk about the Satanic verses in the Quran. However, just to clarify one thing, the book was not the first to bring out the Satanic verses. It was known long before the book the history of the Satanic verses. The book just brought it to the forefront. I never read the book myself and know about the Satanic verses. Enough said. Amein. As you have stated the topic of this thread is..." This thread is to serve as a resource for information about Islam and to try to shed some light on some verses in The Holy Qur'an. And you said ...." if I haven't studied the Quran because I really don't have the time to, I surely don't have the time to study the satanic verses"... If you don't have the time to read or study the muslim bible how can you make intelligent statements about verses in the muslim bible.? And if you don't really know what is in the quran why do you try to defend it? Are you just trying to defend this religion/cult because you feel guilt at being a member of an organization that teaches that murder, torture, etc is what muslims should do? I don't pretend to know a lot about islam/muslim but from what I have read so far leads me to think that this kind of religion in its present form should be banned world wide.
