Funny thing is I can catalogue the articles which explain the rise and fall of the bubble and the players involved, ...but, ...no one cares.

I would suggest that they can easily blame the little guy and get away with it. There are plenty of reporters on staff who will run with that version. They have already prepped the public for that version of their truth.

I would also suggest that they can't afford to be wrong, too much money involved. Take a look at the brokerage guru's who called stratospheric prices and were allowed to just walk away afterwards with no more than a slap on the wrist (IMO).
